Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Florida Closing Guide collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Florida Closing Guide is created and operated by Title & Key, a Florida title agency. Questions about this policy can be sent to fcg@titleandkey.com.

How the site is hosted

The site runs on Ghost(Pro), a hosted publishing service from Ghost Foundation. Ghost hosts the pages, stores subscriber records, and sends newsletter emails on our behalf. Like most web hosts, Ghost's servers receive standard technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested. Ghost's own privacy policy is at ghost.org/privacy.

Some site features load code from a public content delivery network (jsDelivr): the subscribe and account window (Ghost Portal) and site search. When your browser loads that code, jsDelivr receives standard technical information such as your IP address. The site's fonts are served from the site itself, not from a third-party font service.

Newsletter and subscriber accounts

You can subscribe to the free Florida Closing Guide newsletter. When you subscribe, we collect:

• your email address;
• your name, if you enter one (the subscribe window has an optional name field; the homepage signup form asks only for email);
• basic signup details Ghost records, such as the date you subscribed and the page or source you subscribed from.

We use this information to send the newsletter and to manage your subscription. Newsletter emails sent through Ghost record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which helps us understand which topics are useful. We do not use subscriber emails for any other purpose and we do not sell them.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter email, or through your account in the subscribe window. To ask us to delete your subscriber record, email fcg@titleandkey.com.

The site does not sell paid memberships and does not take payments.

Cookies and similar storage

• Signed-in subscribers: if you sign in to your subscriber account, Ghost sets cookies that keep you signed in. They are not used for advertising.
• Signup source: Ghost's member attribution script stores the pages you visit during a session in your browser's session storage, so that if you subscribe, Ghost can record which page led to the signup.

The site does not use advertising cookies, advertising networks, or third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics, and Ghost's built-in web analytics is not turned on. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Closing cost calculator

The closing cost calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored by us. When you use the homepage calculator to open the full calculator, your price, county, and buyer or seller choice are passed in the page address (for example, ?price=...&county=...), so they appear in your browser history and, like any page address, are received by the host when the page loads.

Title company directory

The Find a Title Company directory filters listings in your browser. Your county, region, and search choices are added to the page address so the filtered view can be bookmarked or shared. We do not record which companies you view. Links to company websites take you to sites we do not control, each with its own privacy practices.

Email to us

If you email fcg@titleandkey.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it to respond and to act on your request, such as a correction or a directory listing change.

Children

The site is meant for adults involved in real estate transactions and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site collects or uses information, we will update this page and its effective date.
